OI....or is that OYE? Maybe it's both. The National Jew of Rocky Horror here. Although, I've been told it should change to International. I am not the only Jew in RHPS, but it was a nickname given to me years back, on my first cast. Let's start from the beginning. I first saw Rocky Horror when I was 17. I also got immediately banned from ever seeing Rocky at that theater. Yes, managers don't like being hit in the back of the head with wet toilet paper rolls. 2 years later, I was introduced to Erotic nightmares, in Palo Alto, CA. Joining them in January of 1992, after only seeing the show twice. I was a Trannie and Brad. Within a year of leaving for school and coming back, I became the main Brad, a Riff-Raff and Rocky. With stints here and there for tacky shows as everyone else. Since then I have performed every role at least 3 times, except Janet only twice. I helped start Bawdy Caste in San Jose, in 1995. Started and ran Cosmic Light in San Mateo, 1998. I was a part of The Zenroom in San Luis Obispo, Under Sedation in Sacramento, rejoined Bawdy Caste briefly and then joined Barely Legal. I instantly became the main Rocky for 1 year with BL. Then Frank became my role for 10 months. I moved to Los Angeles in 2002, and joined Wild and Untamed Things, the most innovative cast ever. Having performed Riff, Frank, Rocky, Brad, Magenta, 1 Crim scene, an SNL theme show and a successful Back-To-School show as Dr. Frank-N- Dean Wormer/Dick,Teacher/Principal/Ed Rooney Furter. I also played Davie of the T-Birds in a special production of Grease 2 with Sins O' the Flesh members. I moved back to NorCal this past year to rejoin BL. The funnest cast I've ever been involved with. Talk about coming home to family! Currently Rocky and sometime frank. With some special stuff here and there. YES..I talk. I'm a Diva, what do you expect?
What do you do on cast?
Rocky, Frank, Once in a while Riff, Magenta once, Brad once. I'm the resident go to guy when you need a role filled. I'm also the resident Diva.
What made you want to join Barely Legal?
I've known many of them for years. Great friends and they made me feel at home. I knew I belonged.
What appeals to you about Rocky Horror?
The movie? YEAH RIGHT. It's the people. I adore the crowd. I adore the cast members. I love going to other places and being recognized for being a performer. I also enjoy the conventions.
What is your favorite Rocky Horror related moment?
That's tough. How do you define 12 1/2+ years of moments? Maybe performing for 900 plus screaming fans in Santa Cruz. Or the Saturday Night Live theme show in the L.A. valley. (I was a Conehead and one of the Ambiguously Gay Duo.)
What do you do when you're not at Rocky Horror?
I am a caretaker to Linda. She has cerebral Palsy and is at the show every other week. The best boss ever. I also write poetry, play Vampire: the Masquerade (live action role-playing), go clubbing (Gothic/Industrial), play with my puppy and constantly searching for that perfect love. I also perform other shows, when I can.
Aside from Rocky, what is your favorite obsession?
By the looks on my walls? "Hi Marilyn. Hello Miss Monroe. Well, don't you look good today, Marilyn. Miss Norma Jean Baker, you are gorgeous." No...NO obsessions here. Marilyn Monroe is a GODDESS! JWO:Jewish World Order: Hebrew Heat
