Mike

Hey what's up folks- i'm Mike, Roachman or "Hey You," the quiet tubby asian kid on cast, hehe. Born and raised in San Jose, CA, I adore the Bay Area. I couldn't see myself living anywhere else.

I first discovered the RHPS back in 7th grade while perusing through the selection at a local video rental. I had always wondered about the black box with the red lips. At age 11, I had no idea there was such a huge following behind it. Fast forward a few years to my junior year in high school when a friend talked nonstop about going to a live show every weekend. I'm assuming she went to a local one in San Jose that was active at the time. She spoke of shout-outs, audience participation, devirginizing new folks -- I wanted to go! ...but for reasons unknown, I didn't.

So..Years after graduating high school in '99, I started going to school up in San Francisco and eventually made friends with a few folks who had seen casts in the East Bay. One winter evening, some friends and I ventured into Oakland to experience Barely Legal. I knew right away after my first show (1/31/04) that I had to be a part of this group. A few weekends later, I joined the props crew, a year later auditioned for Dr. Scott, and here I am now, still working my ass off lol.

I've made some awesome friends on cast since I've started. For the most part, everyone here is great. If you see me at the show, don't be afraid to say hi, I won't bite =) or you can e-mail me at roachman_mike@yahoo.com

What do you do on cast?
I play the resident Nazi, Dr. Everett Scott, his nephew Eddie, and I get the pleasure of carrying heavy shit on and off stage every weekend working Props...which will eventually ruin my back ;) I also play Ralph when needed.
What made you want to join Barely Legal?
I had so much fun at my first show that I knew I had to be a part of it.
What appeals to you about Rocky Horror?
It's something awesome to experience with everyone on a Saturday night. I love how people go there to have fun and enjoy themselves. The atmosphere is fantastic!
What is your favorite Rocky Horror related moment?
I was driving in my car one day and I realized, "Oh shit! Brad Majors is Mayor Winston in Spin City!" ... I live a dismal life.

I love participating in the SF Pride Parade every year as well!
What do you do when you're not at Rocky Horror?
I'm a full-time student at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco studying 3d animation and Visual Effects stuff. For the most part, I'm surgically attached to my computer. When I have free time, I'll usually hit up the bars or watch movies with buddies.
Aside from Rocky, what is your favorite obsession?
My favorite obsession (and also guilty pleasure) is anything related to classic Disney. I try to hit up Disneyland at least once a year and collect what stuff I can. :)

...and ninjas. and pirates.

Yarrrrrrrr.
